The Winco WL12000HE generator is the mid-size unit in the Big Dog series: 12,000 surge and 10,800 continuous watts off a Honda GX630 V-twin with electric start. It is the right size for a roofing crew running a couple of welders, a compressor, and lights off one machine without paying for output you will never use.
Runtime is the strong point. The 15 gallon tank gives 9 hours at full load and 14.5 at half, so a full shift is one fill-up. The GX630 has cast iron cylinder sleeves, which is the reason these engines go thousands of hours between rebuilds.
The receptacle panel covers most job site needs: four 20A GFCI outlets, a 20A L5-20 locking GFCI, a 30A L6-30 twist-lock at 240V, and a 60A 14-60 for a temp panel or large welder. The YourGen LED meter shows hours, voltage, frequency, and a load bar, and low-oil shutdown is standard.
